Ventures
One business, built properly.
We would rather run one business properly than describe five. Pinvoy is the first, and for now the only one.
01 — Pinvoy
A platform that helps content creators connect with their audience and earn from their work.
Pinvoy is in development and not yet public. It is with testers on iOS and Android ahead of launch, which is the point at which there will be more to say here.
Until then we would rather under-describe it than pre-announce it. What follows is about the business being built around it, not what it does.
02 — What a venture actually involves
The idea is the small part, and so is the software. This is the rest of it — the work of turning something that runs into something that can be sold, charged for and supported:
- Where it runs
- A web app, a native iOS app and a native Android app — sharing one versioned API rather than a wrapped webview.
- How it earns
- Subscription billing, revenue splits and payouts, with refunds, chargebacks and disputes reconciling on their own — because a business that cannot take money reliably is not one yet.
- What running it requires
- Account deletion, content moderation, two-factor authentication, rate limiting, and legal agreements a person can reasonably sign.
- Status
- In testing on TestFlight and Google Play. Pre-launch.
Almost none of that is visible to a customer, and all of it is the difference between something that demonstrates well and something that can be operated as a business. That is the part we are actually in.
03 — What's next
Pinvoy is not finished — launching is the start of running a business, not the end of building one. The next venture starts when this one operates without us watching it.
